In the beginning of this course I was actually pretty nervous because I am not very good at social media, and maneuvering my way around. However, I was excited to learn more about social media, stats, and how to track everything. It did help calm my nerves a little bit knowing that Tessa was in this course with me, and also knowing that Logan Mackie was willing to tutor me once a week via blog posting. Having Logan Mackie help me through this course was one of the best things that could have happened.
I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to be expecting to learn. Hearing from other classmates that have already took this course I knew I would be getting into Facebook and Twitter along with being assigned a specific business. However, I was expected to kind of learn how to run my own business, because that was the talk around the classrooms as of what we were learning. So in all reality, I was expected to learn how to run my own business via social media.
I did learn how to maneuver around social media a lot more than I knew before. I am extremely pleased with this course (even though it was a little harder for me) because I DID learn a lot more than I knew before hand. I also learned how to read statistics in each of our social media sites, such how many followers/likes I have on Facebook and Twitter.
My Favorite experience is learning how to run blogger. Before this class, I have only heard of blogger and I never knew what it really was or how to even run it. I LOVE that you taught me how to run blogger because I know it is extremely beneficial to know how to blog when running a professional business. It brings in your guests and your demographics, it helps promote your deals and I love the fact that you can post links in your blogs so it's just that much easier for your guests to click on, instead of making them find the information by themselves. Running blogger itself is also a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. Consider Logan Mackie helped me maneuver my way around it and made me feel comfortable with it.

Halloween Activites
This week we are going to do a little Halloween fun. Come join Spades Campground for a costume contest Halloween evening at 5pm. Bring your friends and family for some door prizes and treats. Whoever wins best costume gets a 10% off night of their stay of their choice! Open bar for the adults and fun activities for the children.
Check out this website for more Halloween ideas! |
However, for the children we are playing night games such as ghostly relay race, which is where you race the ghost (white balloons) to and from the finish line by keeping them up in the air. The players can never grab or hold the balloon, they must keep it up in the air by hitting it. We are also hosting a kid friendly haunted house. All of these games are free of cost to participate in. The only thing you have to supply by yourself are your food and beverages (except for the open bar.)
Don't forget to help us raise awareness this weekend for "A Feast For Queens" by helping us with the potluck. Remember, if you can't make it out to us feel free to donate at website. Please check out my Facebook page for more information about breast cancer!

A Feast For Queens
As you should know this month is all about raising Breast Cancer Awareness. According to BreastCancer.org, one out of eight women (12%) will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Over 40,000 women are estimated to lose their battle to breast cancer in 2016 alone. What we are going to do for this illness is raise awareness by hosting an amazingly special event called "A Feast For Queens," with the sole purpose of changing these alarming statistics.
We have gained support from local organizations that have stepped up to help us support women with breast cancer in their constant battles. These incredible organizations have nobly donated supplies, food and prizes to help us successfully lessen the burden these strong women face now in their everyday lives and will continue to face until their battle is won.
"A Feast For Queens" will be hosted at the Spades Campground on Saturday, October 29 starting at noon. Our amazing team will be working extremely hard to make this event special for the women who are struggling with their battle. Go to our Facebook to volunteer your time. If you're not able to make it to our event but would still like to support these strong women be sure to visit the website.

Saving Lives
We're not always about camping, trips, games, and races with the family. We also like to care for others and look into other business as well, weather they relate to my business or not. This past week I had the opportunity to help Posh Pets in rescuing seven cats and dogs from the kill shelter. For example, I helped sponsor this AMAZING animal shelter in raising enough money to move the animals from a kill shelter to a more secure shelter were putting the animals down isn't an option.
In return for doing this, Posh Pets agreed to spread the word about my business as well. As far as tweeting about me on Twitter to personally advertising my business in flyers and posters and handing them out. I love helping others succeed as much as watching my own business succeed. It isn't always about you, give some credit to others as well!
By making this strong network connection I agreed to giving every employee at Posh Pets an opportunity to have a free weekend stay of their choice with their family. I am so blessed to have worked with the most amazing crew, my business partners and hers, to have such a successful outcome.
